New (24 Sep. 2001): "Anarchy: TOS" has historically been hosted by Free Speech TV. FSTV recently decided that magic pixie dust wasn't enough to keep their servers running, so they asked their users to start paying for their storage space or be forced to give it up on October 7. "Deviant" apparently caved in quickly; all of his content has disappeared without a forwarding address. Such perseverance in the face of adversity is truly inspiring to behold.
People like to write to me and express their views on anarchy. "Why you, Larry?" you ask. "You know about as much about anarchy as Jesse Ventura knows about quantum physics."
Well, it all started with a Web page called...
It was added to our ratings database as a site containing foul language. The author, Mike Auffinger (who seems to prefer the name "Deviant"), wrote to us, enraged that his page would be "blocked" because of its anarchist content. I explained to him that we do have a "foul language" category and that his page was correctly rated as such (still is, in fact, as of this writing), but we have no such thing as an "anarchist content" category. Moreover, the foul-language category is not even blocked by all Bess servers, since each server can be configured to block or permit different categories.
Naturally he refused to believe

blurb on his page (quoted verbatim, all errors intact):

The last two words link to my e-mail address. Thus I get a few messages a month from whiny self-styled anarchists. About two-thirds of them have AOL addresses, which makes me wonder (as must Auffinger, surely) what so many anarchists are doing supporting a vast multinational corporation. Many of them follow Auffinger's lead and accuse me of being anti-Constitutional, leading me to wonder if I'll soon find myself accused of being anti-affirmative-action by the Ku Klux Klan.
Anyway, since the people who write to me inevitably complain about their free speech being suppressed, I thought I would give them the forum they deserve. Please be forewarned that many of these writers tend to use vulgar language to emphasize just how free their speech is. If you are not offended by strong language, you may read their messages below; just scroll down.
